Will I have to enter the different systems of five universities to be able to use all their services?

One of our main goals is to work towards you not having to. CHARM-EU is working on the foundations of a joint virtual identity in which students have one user name and password to enter a centralised CHARM-EU student environment. Our purpose is to provide students the advantages of the service environment of five institutions without the difficulties of entering each system. However, as CHARM European University as an individual entity is still in the process of development, there will be some cases in which we cannot guarantee that students don’t have to enter different systems. In terms of local services, students might also need a physical “key” (e.g. membership card) for some facilities, but our goal is to reduce the number of these as well.

Will I have the opportunity to meet students of the CHARM-EU partner institutions or only my fellow CHARM students at the institution in which I am based?

Of course. The purpose of CHARM-EU is to provide a CHARM-EU experience, but this does not mean that students should lose contact with the local student community of the institution where they are physically located in different periods of their CHARM-EU student journey. We are in dialogue with local student unions, clubs, mentoring networks etc. to provide an open, inclusive and diverse environment to the first groups of CHARM-EU students at our campuses.

Can I ask for help locally if I have any problem?

Certainly. CHARM-EU is going to provide remote support for all CHARM-EU students through the Joint Virtual Administrative Office. However, there will always be a local physical contact point where CHARM-EU students can turn to in case they have any concerns, difficulties or need any help.

Will CHARM-EU provide me a dormitory place at my physical locations?

CHARM-EU provides detailed information and advice on accommodation and housing opportunities to all CHARM-EU students. The number of dormitory places is very limited at the CHARM-EU partner institutions, however, support will be provided in finding accommodation.

If I have certain physical access needs, does this affect which CHARM-EU locations I can chose from as the physical location of a certain period of my studies?

At CHARM-EU, by realising the principle of universal design, we are making all possible efforts so that all kinds of access needs can be fulfilled at any location in any phase of the CHARM-EU student journey. However, we highly appreciate if all related information is communicated with us well in advance, so that we can make all necessary preparations, avoiding all possible difficulties to the greatest possible extent.

I would like to apply to the master’s programme from a non-EU country. Will I get visa support and help with deadlines etc.?

You certainly will. In case of non-EU countries, CHARM-EU is available for supporting queries on procedures, deadlines, etc.
