CHARM-EU selected to receive additional funding from the EU Horizon 2020 Programme

The proposal submitted by the alliance, TORCH (Transforming Open Responsible Research and Innovation through CHARM) will be funded with €2M euros for the next 3 years.

The results of the first call of the European Commission's research program, Horizon 2020, for the European universities have been published today. CHARM-EU was one of the selected alliances to receive this complementary funding from this grant which aims to consolidate a common research and innovation agenda for the European universities.

CHARM-European University formed by the University of Barcelona, as a coordinator, Trinity College Dublin, Utrecht University, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest and University of Montpellier has participated in this call by presenting the TORCH project: Transforming Open Responsible Research and Innovation through CHARM.The proposal has been selected with a funding of €2M euros for the next 3 years.    

With TORCH project, CHARM-EU aims to align the research, teaching and innovation strategies by fostering a transformative agenda that has transdisciplinary and interculturality as its main foundations. This project will also contribute to the consolidation of CHARM-EU as a European University through the improvement of the academic and research networks that have already started with the activities of the alliance.

Context

The SWAF Coordination and support actions, tackled by the Horizon 2020 of the European Commission, has opened this grant restricted to the first 17 European universities selected under the Erasmus Plus programme. The main objective of this Horizon Europe call is to increase the impact of the alliances though the development of a common research and innovation strategy. In particular, it seeks to mutually reinforce teaching and research strategies as part of the Vision 2030 developed by the European Commission.
