  • In July 2019, she joined the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University.
     
  • She is a researcher within the ERC-funded GLOBALGOALS project, for which she studies the steering effects of the SDGs on the inclusiveness of global sustainability governance.
     
  • Specifically, she explores the integration of the Global South in various aspects of governance, including global change science, global civil society, and global institutions.
     
  • In September 2020, she joined the CHARM-EU alliance to develop, and teach within, a new Master programme on Global Sustainability Challenges.

  • As a researcher she is a member of the Economy, Energy and Environmental Pressures (EEEP) research group, the Barcelona Economic Analysis Team (BEAT) research institute, the European Network for Input-Output Studies (EUNIOS), the Network of reference in Economics and Public Policies (XREPP), and the Inter-University Women and Gender Studies (iiEDG). She was the secretary of the Hispanic-American Input-Output Society (SHAIO) from its creation in 2005 until 2020 and she is member of the executive committee and secretary of BEAT from its creation in 2016, being also the scientific director of the “Environment, Sustainable and Well-being” research line. She is editor of “Ecological Economics” from June 2021.
     
  • Her research —both theoretical and applied— about global sustainability is focused on the study of economic interdependences, particularly those related to the sustainability of economic and social systems such as the environment and daily wellbeing paying special attention to care of people, household production and gender inequality; but also, on other related aspects such as income distribution, international trade and national accounting.
     
  • She is (co-) author of several books and scientific articles published in international journals and has participated in competitive projects — public and private— such as the World Input-Output Database (WIOD) funded by the European Commission. Results of their collaboration with public institutions such as the Statistical Institute of Catalonia (Idescat) and Catalan Government are “Household satellite account for Catalonia 2011” and “Water satellite account for Catalonia 2005”.
