ERAC – European Research Area and Innovation Committee – released a research evaluation in context of Open Science and gender equality on the 2nd of June 2021 in Brussels, Belgium. The aim of the report is to provide stakeholders, who are involved in the reform of research evaluation, with guidelines designed to foster Open Science and gender equality.

CHARM-EU has been referenced within these guidelines as an organization which thrives to design and create Open Science-compatible models to evaluate research and researchers, which is also a central element of the Alliance’s research project, TORCH (Transforming Open Responsible Research and Innovation through CHARM). The guidelines discuss how the Alliance aims to create Open Science practices and Open Access publications within its partner institutions, whilst also ensuring that gender equality is considered in a systematic manner.

Furthermore, ERAC’s paper discusses how CHARM-EU’S TORCH project intends to upskill researchers and change policies within the partner universities. They highlight how the Alliance’s module will implement insightful content and innovative methodology in order to consider all aspects of Open Science.

This guideline paper is a fruitful hub of information on the topic of Open Science and gender equality, and CHARM-EU is honoured to be referred to as a source of best practice in these fields.
