An inclusive program

An inclusive program

One of CHARM-EU's core values is inclusivity. We strongly believe in the power of diversity and how learning in a diverse environment leads to the personal development and cultural enrichment for all involved. In CHARM-EU, we believe in fostering an open, welcoming, safe atmosphere, where all forms of diversity are recognised, respected, and seen as a source of strength and benefit to the CHARM-EU community and beyond.

CHARM-EU welcomes applications from all candidates who fulfil the Master's specific requirements, regardless of their backgrounds, lived experiences, and access needs.

During the application process to the CHARM-EU Master's in Global Challenges for Sustainability, applicants have the option to self-disclose whether they are a member of an underrepresented group to obtain specially designated inclusion points during the admission assessment process. Underrepresentation can relate but is not limited to age, gender, family status, disability, sexual orientation, race and ethnic origin, religion, migration status, membership of the Roma and Traveller communities, and socio-economic background. This declaration is optional for the applicant. The process begins by the applicant checking the inclusivity points box at the time of their application. If an applicant checks the box and uploads the application documents by the deadline, a member of the CHARM-EU Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Office will be in touch with the applicant. The applicant will be invited to provide a rationale for requesting inclusion points, and to provide documentation where relevant and appropriate (e.g. in cases of socio-economic status or disability). Any documentation provided will be handled with the utmost sensitivity and solely by the DEI Team for the purposes of the application process only (any Needs Assessment process is conducted separately after admission - see below).

Master’s CHARM-EU Needs Assessment Process

CHARM-EU prohibits any discrimination on any grounds. Being inclusive at its core, in line with its capacity and resources, CHARM-EU is committed to providing the best learning experience and the appropriate structures and services that cater to students' access and participation. The CHARM-EU DEI Office leads the Individual Needs and Reasonable Accommodations Process for the Master’s. Students enrolled in the Master’s are encouraged to disclose their access needs early into their study programme so that the appropriate supports can be put in place. To receive a Needs Assessment, please contact the CHARM-EU DEI Office – see email below. Where applicable and available, the CHARM-EU DEI Office relies on the specific service and support provision of certain services at our partner institutions (such as the Disability and Accessibility Service).
