The FLOW summer school was held from May 25th to June 11th, 2021 in distance learning and gathered about 50 students of 20 different nationalities located over 15 time zones, including 7 students from CHARM-EU partner universities.

This program led by Polytech Montpellier in partnership with two other Engineering schools of Montpellier, L’Institut Agro SupAgro Montpellier and ENSCM gathered about 50 students of 20 different nationalities located over 15 time zones, including 7 students from CHARM-EU partner universities (2 from the University of Barcelona, 3 from Trinity College Dublin and 2 from Eötvös Loránd University).

Interestingly, only one of these "CHARM-EU" students chose the scientific track dedicated to Food, Living Organisms and Water (FLOW), the others chose either the track on Sustainable Energy and Materials (SEM) or the track on Data and Information processing (DIP). In parallel with the scientific courses, the students worked in small international groups on a creative cross-disciplinary project targeting one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

French courses were also offered to participants. Interactivity was the key word of this program: the teachers from FLOW could benefit from the support and advice of the CSIP of MUSE but also from Jake Byrne, expert in pedagogy of the CHARM-EU consortium. The general assessment of this 100% distance learning edition is very positive since more than 90% of the students were satisfied to very satisfied with the program and obtained their University degree.
