During the webinar, Trinity College Dublin Provost, Prof. Patrick Prendergast, talked about the CHARM-EU perspective on sustainability and the future of the European Universities Initiative beyond 2023.

On 10 June 2020 the Coimbra Group organised an virtual* Open Session on the European Universities Alliances with more than 600 people registered. The event brought together representatives from European Universities alliances, higher education institutions, researchers, international stakeholders including governmental bodies and national agencies.  The aim of this webinar was to share experiences and learning of Coimbra Group member universities involved in developing European Universities Alliances.

The webinar focused on thematic discussions to go deeper into the different Alliances’ processes of construction and their strategic approaches on the sustainability of the European universities, the European Degree and the impact of the COVID-19 on the on the alliances’ activities.

Patrick Prendergast, President and Provost of Trinity College Dublin (CHARM-EU partner) talked about the viability and sustainability of the European Universities Alliances in particular in the CHARM-EU alliance. Provost Patrick Prendergast highlighted the relevance and importance of challenge-driven education, and in collaborating to deliver our mission to reconcile humanity and the planet. This webinar was the first one of a series where the Coimbra Group aims at playing the role of a European platform to bring and exchange together the experiences and learning of Coimbra Group member universities involved in developing Alliances and beyond.
