How did the shift towards online education affect Roma students? And how did Roma women contribute to improve education within their communities during remote learning? Ane López de Aguileta from the University of Barcelona will present her findings on those questions during this International Guest Lecture.
In April 2023, the League of European Research Universities (LERU) published a new paper, Implementing interdisciplinarity in research-intensive universities: good practices and challenges, examining progress on implementing interdisciplinarity among member universities since their 2016 position paper, Interdisciplinarity and the 21st century research-intensive university. The new report revisits recommendations, considers where progress has been made and where further changes are recommended. Members of the Horizon Europe SHAPE-ID project, led by Professor Jane Ohlmeyer, contributed to the new report.
This town hall, organised by Trinity Research and the Trinity Long Room Hub, is an occasion for members of the Trinity community to reflect on where Trinity has been successful in encouraging and supporting inter- and transdisciplinarity in research and education and consider where we can and should aim to improve. All members of the College community are invited to attend and contribute.
The Faculty of History of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow is organising, as part of the activities of the Equality and Diversity Working Group, a webinar on good practices in academic education for people with various disabilities, entitled ‘Disability, diversity and Inclusion’.
The webinar will consist of three parts: in the first part, the Jagiellonian University Accessibility Centre will present good practices in adapting the educational process to the needs of people with various disabilities. In the second part, the Centre for Student Support and Adaptation, which provides assistance to people with mental disorders, will be presented. Finally, a colleague from the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University will talk about innovative methods of working with visually impaired people. There will be time for questions and answers with the three presenters and exchange of experiences.
The webinar is open to anyone in the higher education sector interested in these issues, whether they are members of the Coimbra Group or not.
CHARM-EU WP11 Onboarding and Inter-institutional Professional Development meets at the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences from the 2nd ot the 3rd of May 2023.
The team group has representative from the 8 universities: Universitat de Barcelona, Trinity College Dublin, Utrecht University, University of Montpellier, Eötvös Loránd University Budapest, Åbo Akademi University, Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg and the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences.
They will participate on a onsite hackathon where they will brainstorm and plan the onboarding package and other tasks related with the Inter-institutional professional development activites for teaching, research and innovation, service to society and professional activies.
How can we best use the sector’s experience to inform future-proof learning designs? What is the potential of the European degree label? What are some alternative educational formats?
Based on extensive experience of our members and first experiences of the European University alliances, the seminar contributes to the debate on the types of educational models needed.
CHARM-EU WP5 Mobility meets at the Julian-Maximilian Würzburg University from 21 to 22 March 2023. The team group has representative from the 8 universities: Universitat de Barcelona, Trinity College Dublin, Utrecht University, University of Montpellier, Eötvös Loránd University Budapest, Åbo Akademi University, Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg and the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences.
They will have 5 rounds of workshops where they will discuss mobility schemes for students, doctoral candidates and staff and ways to improve mobility management mobility management and procedures.

On the 8th of March 2023, CHARM-EU is organising its second TORCH Annual Forum titled “Sharing Common R&I Policies and Strategies: strengthening collaborations towards a transformational approach”.
In this first of a series of EUA workshops on digital transformation in higher education and research, a select group of university leaders will share best practices and engage in a Europe-wide discussion focusing on institutional policies.
This event will also foster discussion on the development of holistic strategies that allow institutions to harness the potential of digital transformation and the fundamental questions that this raises for university leaders.
On December 13th and 14th 2022, the CHARM-EU Alliance is hosting the public CHARM-EU Annual Conference in Barcelona. Participants will have the opportunity to take a look forward while also reflecting on the achievements of the CHARM-EU Alliance in order to evaluate the multilevel impact of the European University Alliances.
