The event gathered more than 275 students from all over Europe representing European University Alliances to design recommendations to impact the future of Europe.

On March 3rd and 4th, the European Universities Community (ECU), organized a student-centered event in Strasbourg with the aim of giving all European students a space to share their opinions and impressions in the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The event kicked-off with a guided visit at European Parliament building of Strasbourg followed by an opening ceremony in which students had the opportunity to meet with each other and discuss about the debating topics previously agreed via online platforms.

During the second day, more than 275 students representing the European University alliances, including a group of 10 CHARM-EU student representatives and staff participated in the opening session and roundtable “Rethinking the European democracy through student diplomacy”. This session was followed by panel meetings to concluded the discussions regarding 10 debating topics previously agreed during an online consultation held during January-March 2022. After that, the rapporteurs from each panel group presented the conclusions in a plenary session to the rest of the participants. These conclusions were voted and approved to be uploaded to the Conference on the Future of Europe’s platform.

Additionally, as a result of the meeting, the EUC has released a Manifesto on the Future of the European Universities, which has already been signed by many students who have contributed to the debating topics and its development. The Manifesto was shared with European Commission authorities.
