CHARM-EU mobility combines the best of a truly international classroom and mobility activities. You will be able to follow a unique learning path through Europe, supporting your learning needs and ambitions.
CHARM-EU integrates exchange of knowledge, experience and people into its educational model. You will participate in virtual exchange programmes, travel physically for a co-creative project and a bit of both in a blended mobility activity. CHARM-EU mobility can be short & intensive, mid-length & deeper or longer & comprehensive and you can embark on this journey on your own or in a group.
CHARM-EU mobility encourages you to travel (green!) to participate in an international activity in at least one other CHARM-EU university than the one you start at. Your destination(s) will of course be linked to the academic content and learning goals of the modules of your choice.
Integrated mobility options
Mobility is a norm in CHARM-EU and is embedded in the curricula, thus you will be offered a predefined set of mobility options. The mobility actions always need to be related to your academic path!
In the Master’s programme, participation at phase mobility during Phase 2 is obligatory. It means that you will move to a different university from your Phase 1 location in Phase 2, following the field of your choice. In addition, you can also change to another institution in Phase 3 depending on the challenge of your choice.
Furthermore, there are embedded blended mobility programmes during Phase 2, as well as an opportunity to take part in traineeship mobility after graduation. Below you will find a description of the various mobility opportunities based on the pilot programme started in 2021.
Funding for CHARMobility
As moving between CHARM-EU campuses for educational purposes is one of the appealing built-in cornerstones of the programme, supporting travel grants will be made available where possible. All students admitted to the Master’s programme are entitled to benefit from different Erasmus+ grants, regardless of his/her country of origin, however, all students must comply with the rules of the Erasmus+ granting scheme.
To give you an idea of funding opportunities:
*Concrete grant amounts will be updated during 2022.
The amount of Erasmus+ grant for studies (used for Phase mobility) varies between 240€ and 520€ per month as of 1 February 2022, based on the countries of the sending and receiving institution. The amount of Erasmus+ grant for blended mobility (covering the short-term physical stay) provides a daily allowance of 70€ (for the first 14 days, then decreased to 50€ until day 30), regardless of the countries of the sending and receiving institutions.
Please note that for mobility activities without institutional funding, you need to budget a personal contribution. The amount will of course depend on your individual scenario, however, below you can find some indicative prices for all cities to help you estimate any additional costs.

CHARM-EU wishes to promote sustainable travelling, hence the choice to show the starting prices for train and bus trips. Of course, the actual prices will depend on time of booking and period of travelling. Alternative means of transportation can be faster, more comfortable or otherwise more convenient. Travelling to and from Dublin by train is not always a feasible option.
