Q&A session - 2024 Edition

Join the Q&A session about the CHARM-EU Master's in Global Challenges for Sustainability!

The event is scheduled to take place on March 12, 2024 from 6 PM CET for a duration of 1 hour, ensuring a concise and impactful experience. We'll kick things off with a brief 10-minute introduction. The next 20 minutes will be dedicated to addressing pre-submitted questions. Following that, we'll dive into a dynamic 30-minute Q&A session, offering an opportunity for real-time interaction with professors and admisnistrative staff from the master's.

Master’s in Global Challenges in Sustainability - Check out the video!

The master's in Global Challenges in Sustainability aims to provide a comprehensive educational experience where students will acquire a diverse set of graduate attributes and skills. This programme is tailored for students with varied backgrounds. The program fosters an environment that encourages adaptability and cross-disciplinary thinking, preparing students for the dynamic challenges of today's professional landscape. CHARM-EU recognizes the importance of equipping graduates with the skills needed to navigate diverse career opportunities.

Admissions - Check out the video!

This Master’s programme is targeted at a high quality and multidisciplinary audience with graduates from any discipline seeking to share knowledge and gain advanced understanding in sustainability by addressing societal challenges (e.g., Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs]) and the European Green Deal), developing challenge analysing skills, and extending their capabilities to develop solutions for complex problems. It is a full-time, hybrid programme where mobility is a norm embedded in the curricula (compulsory from semester 1 to semester 2).

Structure of the master’s in Global Challenges for Sustainability - Check out the video!

The 90 credits (ECTS) Master’s degree consists of seven modules in total divided between three consecutive phases. The different phases consist on modules with combination of lectures, seminars and workshops. Additionally, these will also be paired with self-study work, assignment preparation and project work both individually and in teams.

Phase 1 

A preparatory phase with three compulsory 10 credit (ECTS) modules (30 ECTS credits in total). During this phase, students will be able to developpe transversal skills related with sustainability, transdisciplinary research and social innovation.

Phase 2 

A flexible phase with three 10 credit (ECTS) modules in one theme, selected from three thematic pathways (30 ECTS credits in total). The three thematic pathways are: 

Phase 3  

The Capstone phase consisting of one 30 ECTS module. During this phase, students work collaboratively with their peers, academic staff, and extra-academic actors (e.g., business and society) on an authentic sustainability challenge which is based on the student’s original disciplinary field.
